Ongoing project for a two level stories single-family vacation villa. Located at the Takaungu Creek, on the Kenyan Coast between Mombasa and Malindi, in Kilifi County. Located on a 2 acre plot with a built area of approximately 10.763,90sqf.
The main concept was to face the villa towards the outdoor garden and the Indian Sea. The volumes were conceived to be an “L” shape facing west. This decision guarantees the best use of the views towards the natural environment, ocean and sunset. The client expressly required to leave all social and private areas opened to natural ventilation by using sliding doors and windows. The main goal was to have all areas as much open and integrated as possible.
On the first level -access level- there is a hall connected to social areas. An open kitchen, dining, living room, bar and fireplace lounge and a tv room that can be independently shut. A courtesy loo, semi covered parking for 4-6 cars connected to the service room. The latter, detached from the house has a common social space with sofa, kitchenette and dining table; 1 bedroom with bathroom and a laundry area. Both living and dining areas are integrated with the kitchen, facing west and onto the garden and pool area. There is also a detached volume that contains the guests rooms, conceived to be an independent space with private access. It has two bedrooms each with a bathroom and a living room with terraces.
On the second floor there are 2 bedrooms with bathrooms, a family room and the master bedroom. The master bedroom has a space for a king size bed with a sofa and lounge chair, bathroom and a private terrace.
